India defeated England in the third match of the ongoing test series atTrent Bridge by 203 runs to bounce back in the series after having lost the first two matches. Skipper Virat Kohli lead from the front with the bat while Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah took fifer in first and second innings to guide India to victory.
India needed a wicket at the start of the final day’s play. Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed James Anderson’s wicket as England were allout for 317 runs chasing a mamooth target of 521 runs.
t was Bumrah’s spell with the second new-ballin second innings that tilted the gamein India’s favour before Hardik dismantled English batting attack with his fifer in the first innings. Virat was brilliant in both innings as he scored 97 in the first innings followed by a century in the second inning. England finished day 4 at 311/9 to prolong the wait for India to register their first win in the series.
The series is now at 2-1 as India look to make a comeback in coming two matches. With two Tests to play, the five-match series is now interestingly poised.
