India take a lead of 1-0 in the 3 match test series after thrashing Srilanka by an innings and 239 runs at Nagpur on Monday. Starting from 21-1 at the start of day’s play, Srilanka were bowled out for 166 runs as India registered a comprehensive win.
Ravichandran Ashwin was once again amonst the wickets as he finished with the figures of 4-63 in the second innings. Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav shared 2 wickets each for India. Skipper Dinesh Chandimal was the top scorer for Srilanka as he managed a 82 ball 61 with 10 fours. Suranga Lakmal scored 31 while Lahiru Thirimanne was out for 23 runs for the Srilankan team.
Srilanka were bowled out for 205 runs in their first innings while India piled up 610/6 in their first innings. Skipper Virat Kohli was the star with the bat for India as he scored yet another double ton while Cheteswar Pujara, Murali Vijay and Rohit Sharma scored centuries.
