The big news is that the South African left-handed star batsman JP Duminy has withdrawal his name from the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL). Jean Paul Duminy will not play the 10th edition of the VIVO Indian Premier League from the Delhi Daredevils.
JP Duminy played in the Indian Premier League in 2009 after the Mumbai Indians franchise acquired him for US$950,000. He scored two half-centuries in the tournament. Duminy who was the regular member of Delhi Daredevil team since 2014 had also captained the side in the 2015 edition.
The Cheif Executive of Delhi Daredevil team said, “We respect JP’s decision. We are naturally very disappointed to not have JP in our midst this year, but as a franchise we clearly understand his position. At this stage, we can only confirm that we will look for a replacement at an appropriate time,” Dua was quoted as saying in a media release.”
JP Duminy said, “It has been a very difficult decision for me to make, but it was for purely personal reasons. I am grateful for the support and understanding from the franchise. It has been an absolute privilege to have played for and led a talented mix of players. I certainly hope to play a part for the franchise in the near future.”
