Nepal into the finals of ACC U16 Eastern Region Tournament Letzcricket – Serving Nepali Cricket

Nepal defeated Malaysia by 72 runs to march into the finals of the ACC U16 Eastern Region Tournament on Saturday. Malaysia was allout for 55 runs chasing a target of 128 runs.

Earlier, Malaysia won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first. Nepal finished with 127/8 from 34 overs with Pratish GC being the top scorer with 25 runs off 22 balls with a six and a four. Sunil Bhandari and Narayan Joshi scored 17 runs each while Bishal Bikram KC chipped in with 15 runs for Nepal. Mohammad Afiq picked up 3 wickets for Malaysia while Aslam Khan bagged 2 wickets.

Chasing a target of 128 runs, Malaysia could manage only 55 runs losing all their wickets in 21.1 overs. Opener Sandesh Supparamaniam was the top scorer for Malaysia with 16 runs. No other batsmen crossed double digit score for Malaysia as Nepal registered a win by 72 runs to secure a place in the finals. Surya Tamang was the pick of the bowlers for Nepal as he finished with the figures of 4-12 from his 7 overs while Pratish GC bowled well for his figures of 3-23.

Nepal will now face Singapore in the finals which will be played tomorrow. Singapore secure a place in the finals beating HongKong by 8 wickets in the other semifinal.
