Nepali U19 team has marched into the semifinals of ACC U19 Asia Cup. Nepal defeated Malaysia convincingly by 8 wickets while India lost to Bangladesh as Nepal and Bangladesh have secured a place in the semi finals from Group A.
Malaysia didn’t have answers to Nepali bowling as they collapsed to get all out for 45 runs from 32-0. Sandeep Lamichhane was the star with the ball for Nepal who picked up 5 wickets while Dipendra Singh Airee and Shahab Alam chipped in with 2 wickets each. The match was reduced to 24 overs each due to rain delay. Nepal chased down the target of 46 runs in just 33 balls with 8 wickets to spare.
After beating Malaysia, Nepal had to wait for the result of the match between Bangladesh and India. Bangladesh chased down a target of 188 runs against India which made way for Nepal to secure a place in the semi finals.
Bangladesh finishe on top of Group A winning all the three matches while Nepal lost to Bangladesh in first match before defeating India and Malaysia to secure a semi final berth. Nepal will now face Afghanistan, the table topper in Group B while Bangladesh will face Pakistan.
