On February 12th, 2017, Day-4 of the India vs Bangladesh Test match being played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad the Indian allrounder Ravichandran Ashwin became the fastest bowler to take 250 Test wickets. Ashwin achieved the milestone in the 45th Test match of his career.
Ravichandran Ashwin surpassed the former Asutralian right-arm fast bowler Dennis Lillee record in 48 matches. Ashwin reached this milestone by dismissing Bangladesh skipper wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim on 127 runs of 262 balls with 16 fours and 2 sixes.
