Third Consecutive Loss for Nepal at ACC Womens T20 Asia Cup

Bangladesh who won the toss decided to bat first in the 8th match of the ACC Womens T20 Asia Cup against Nepal Womens. The match has been played at Asian Institute of Technology Ground, Bangkok. Nepal Womens who lost the previous 2 matches in 2 games they had played against Pakistan and Srilanka in the tournament whereas Bangladesh had won 1 game and lost 1 game against Thailand and India respectively. Bangladesh Womens and Nepal Womens are fighting for the 2 points that will keep alive the hope to qualify.

Bangladesh had an excellent start of their innings batting first. The opening pair contributed 71 runs in 11.3 overs for the 1st wicket partnership. Opener Sanjida Islam who was caught & bowled by Sangita Raiscored 35 runs of 40 balls with 5 fours before returning back to pavilion and another opener Nigar Sultana scored 39 runs of 41 balls with 1 four and was caught by Indu of skipper Chhetry ball. Ayasha Rahman scored 4 runs of 7 balls and Shaila Sharmin scored 19 runs of 17 balls with 2 fours. Bangladesh skipper Rumana Ahmed and Fahima Khatun scored notout 17 runs of just 9 balls with 2 fours and 8 runs of 6 balls respectively and contributed 25 runs for 5th wicket in just 2.2 overs. Bangladesh Womens made 133 runs losing 4 wicket in 20 overs.

Sangita Rai took 2 wickets giving away 31 runs in her 4 oevrs. Skipper Rubina Chhetry and Sita Rana Magar took 1 wicket each in their 4 overs.

Nepal Womens need 134 runs to win their 1st game of the tournament in 20 overs. The wicketkeeper batsman Jyoti Pandey who scored for Nepal in the last match is opening in this match too along with Sita Rana Magar. Jyoti and Sita Rana contributed just 7 runs for the 1st wicket in 2.2 overs before Jyoti was bowled by Suraya Azmim for 1 run of 11 balls. For 2nd wicket Sita Rana Magar & Neera Rajopadhyay added 12 runs in 2.3 overs. The middle order of Nepal was attacked hard by Fahima Khatun by taking 2 wickets in the successive delivery in the 6th over. Sita went back for 15 runs of 14 balls with 3 fours and Neera scored 2 runs of 10 balls. Experienced Nary Thapa and Roshani was sent back to pavilion for duck. Nepal score was 21 runs for 5 wickets in 8th over. Skipper Rubina scored 7 runs of 19 balls before she was bowled by Jahanara Alam. Indu scored 9 runs of 18 balls with 1 four. Karuna Bhandari scored 1 run of 12 balls and Sanam Rai went for duck. Saraswati Kumari remained notout not even facing a single delivery. Nepal were allout for 41 runs in 17.3 overs.

For Bangladesh Women, Fahima Khatun took 4 wickets in 4 overs with a maiden and giving away just 8 runs. Nahida Akter took 2 wicket. Suraya Azmim, Rumana Ahmed, Jahanara Alam and Panna Ghosh took 1 wicket each.
