Controversial Indian pacer Shanthakumaran Sreesanth gets a good news as Kerala High Court lifted the life ban imposed on him by BCCI for his involvement in match fixing in 2013.
The court said in the judgment, “When evidence is in the nature of circumstantial evidence, that evidence ought to have been appreciated as a whole. Dissecting evidence in such manner suited to the disciplinary committee resulted in losing its dimension to find out the truth. If evidence as a whole is appreciated, it can easily be concluded that Sreesanth had no direct link in sport fixing or betting.”

Meanwhile the BCCI chose not to react to the court order. Asked about the BCCI’s stand, acting president C K Khanna said: “The judgement has come today. The BCCI’s legal team will study the judgement and give its observations. Obviously, their feedback will be taken and placed at an appropriate forum (general body).”
In May 2013, Delhi police had arrested Sreesanth and two of his Rajasthan Royals teammates, Ajit Chadilia and Ankit Chavan, on charges of spot fixing. Later, the BCCI had imposed a life ban on him.
Speaking to the media, Sreesanth said “I am definitely happy about the verdict. I am really thankful to the Kerala High Court and my lawyer,” the fast bowlersaid as per the quotes on Kalinga TV. “I am only 34 now. I can play cricket for next 6-7 years with my fitness and God’s blessings.”
Known for his aggressiveness in the cricket field, Sreesanth has taken 87 wickets in 27 Tests and 75 wickets in one-day internationals.
