Nepal finish India tour with a loss

Nepal suffer first loss in the ongoing tour of India after losing toCentre for Sports Science(CSS) by 5 runs. Nepal fell short of the target of 216 by 5 runs after having loss the toss and put into bowl first.

CSS put on 215 runs in the first innings withWillinks Victor scoring 74 runs off 89 balls with 9 fours and a six. OpenerAnanth contributed 45 runs whileTusher scored 26 runs.Sushan Bhari was the pick of the bowlers for Nepal as he finished with the figures of 3-26 from 9 overs. Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane picked up 2 wickets while Sagar Pun and Sompal Kami shared a wicket each.

Nepal in reply got off to a good start with Paras Khadka and Sagar Pun. Paras Khadka fell one short of his half century as he got out toVenkat after scoring a 40 ball 49 with 7 fours and a six. Sagar Pun was the top scorer for Nepal with 69 runs off 84 balls including 7 fours and 2 sixes. After Paras and Sagar got out, Nepal didn’t get significant contribution from any other batsmen apart from Dipendra Singh Airee. Dipendra scored 54 ball 45 before getting out toArun Balaji. Aarif Sheikh (7), Binod Bhandari (15), Sompal Kami (5) and Karan KC (3) couldn’t contribute much as Nepal fell short of the target by 5 runs.

Arun Balaji was the pick of the bowlers for CSS as he finished with the figures of 5-15.Wilkins Victor picked up 3 wickets whileL Ganesh andVenkat shared a wicket each for CSS.

Nepal has wrapped up their practice tour and will return to Nepal for Dashain vacations before flying to Hong Kong to play next round of ICC World Cricket League matches on October 13 and 15.
