Nepal lose to UAE by 7 wickets Letzcricket – Serving Nepali Cricket

UAE defeated Nepal by 7 wickets in the ICC World Cricket League Championship Round 7 match. UAE successfully chased down a target of 222 from45.5 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

Nepal finished their first innings on 221/6 from 50 overs after UAE won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first. Nepal started well with Gyanendra Malla and Dilip nath. Dilip Nath scored a 39 ball 16 while Gyanendra Malla completed his half century before getting out to Rohan Mustafa for 54 runs. After Gyanendra got out, Nepal wanted a long partnership between skipper Paras Khadka and Sharad Veswakar. But Paras was out after scoring 20 runs while Sharad remained notout scoring crucial 81 runs for Nepal.

Aarif Sheikh (0) and Binod Bhandari (4) once again couldn’t contribute while Sompal Kami scored 18 ball 20 and provided some support to Sharad Veswakar. Basant Regmi remained notout on 14 runs for Nepal. Zahoor Khan picked up 2 wickets for UAE while Mohammad Naveed, Ahmed Raza and Rohan Mustafa chipped in with a wicket each.

UAE chased down the target without serious hiccups. Openers Rohan Mustafa and Md Ashfaq added 42 runs for the first wicket before Md Ashfaq was runout by Gyanendra Malla for 19 runs. Rohan Mustafa (62) and G Shabbir (81*) added 81 runs for the second wicket to take the game away for Nepal. Shahzad scored 37 runs before getting caught and bowled to Sandeep Lamichhane while Usman remained unbeaten on 17 for UAE.
