Pakistan defeated Srilanka by 7 wickets in the first T20 of 3 match series to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Pakistan had whitewashed Srilanka 5-0 in the ODI series earlier.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. Srilanka were bowled out for 102 runs as Hasan Ali picked up 3 wickets. Ali finished with his career best figures of 3-23 while Usman Khan and Mohammad Hafeez shared 2 wickets each.Sadeera Samarawickrama and Seekkuge Prasanna scored 23 runs each for Srilanka while no other batsmen could reach double digit scores exceptAshan Priyanjan(12).
Pakistan in reply chased down the target of 103 runs with 7 wickets and 16 balls to spare. Pakistan lost Fakhar Zaman (6) and Babar Azam(1) early while Ahmed Shehzad was out for 22 runs. Shoaib Malik remained unbeatean on 42 while Mohammad Hafeez was notout on 25 runs as Pakistan completed a comprehensive victory over Srilanka by 7 wickets.
